Waste glass recycling----The future of the sunrise industry

In daily life, waste glass has become one of the most difficult materials to be dealt with in urban garbage because it cannot be degraded. If glass bottles are mixed with other garbage and treated in traditional landfill, it can lead to energy waste, pollution as well as waste of land resources.

According to the current production needs, at least 17% - 30% of waste glass need to be added in every ton of glass production. According to statistics, the use of recycled glass can help in saving coal and electricity energy of 10% - 30% as well as reducing air pollution of  20% and  mining waste exhaust of  80%. Taking a ton of glass for calculationrecycling a ton of waste glass can save 720Kg of quartz sand, 250Kg of soda ash, 60 Kg of feldspar powder10 tons of coal and 400 degrees of electricity. A ton of waste glass can be reproduced for 20000 wine bottles in 500g, which can save cost of  20% compared with the use of raw materials. Therefore, the economic and environmental benefits of recycled glass are considerable.


At the same time, glass sorting quality has become one of the recycling difficulties. The process of waste glass recycling may bring forth a large number of CSP (insoluble matter), such as: heterochromatic, stone, all kinds of metal, plastic and other household garbage. The presence of these malignant impurities means that materials must be processed before they can be reused, because glass container manufacturers need to use  materials in high purity.

For the traditional waste glass recycling, the waste glass shall be sent to the manual selection platform after being crushed and being cleaned in the the drum cleaning equipment. Heterochromatic impurities, light substances, CSP and other malignant impurities that may interfere with furnace operation will be sorted manually.


Even if the manual selection is simple, it has disadvantages of high labor costs, low sorting efficiency, uncertain sorting quality.


Through the recognition of broken glass, AHST intelligence glass color sorter can classify according to different colors, and remove the insoluble impurities such as stone, ceramic and metal from broken glass to obtain the raw material of broken glass with uniform color and low impurities. At present, the average recycling rate of waste glass in the world is only close to 50% which means the waste glass industry has a huge market space.
